Accept impound payments online
If your company website has public payment turned on, vehicle owners can pay their impound fees online without calling the office. Payment runs through your connected Square account.
What has to be in place
Square is connected and is your company's payment provider.
Public payment is enabled for your company website.
The impound has fees to pay. Fees come from your active rates for that customer.
What the vehicle owner does
They look up the impound on your public page.
They choose to pay, and Relay Tow creates a Square checkout link for the amount due.
They pay by card on Square's page and are sent back to your site afterwards.
What happens when they pay
The invoice for the impound is marked Paid.
The impound's balance due goes to $0.
Your company gets a payment email. The owner gets a receipt if an email address is on the invoice.
If you use QuickBooks, the payment is recorded there too.
If it does not work
"Public payment is not enabled for this company": turn on public payment in your website settings.
"No supported payment provider configured": Square is not connected. Connect it from Settings.
"Impound fees have already been paid": the invoice is already settled, so no new link is created.
