Your first call, start to finish
This walkthrough takes one call (also called a job or dispatch) from start to finish: create it, assign a driver, track it, complete it, invoice it, and get paid. Steps happen in the dashboard and the driver app, as marked.
Before you start
At least one driver is added and signed in to the driver app.
To take card payments, Square or RoadSync is connected.
1. Create the call (dashboard)
Open Call Log in the sidebar.
Create a new call and enter the call details and vehicle information.
Save.
2. Assign a driver (dashboard)
Open the call.
Assign a driver.
The driver gets a text message and/or push notification about the new call.
3. Track the call (dashboard)
Open Map to see the driver's location and your calls. The call's status updates as the driver works.
4. Work the call (driver app)
The driver opens the call and updates the status as they go: en route, on scene, towing, complete. The driver can add vehicle photos, notes and scan the VIN.
5. Invoice the call
In the dashboard: open Invoices, create an invoice, add line items and send it. With Square connected you can send it with a Square payment link.
In the driver app: the driver opens Collect Payment on the dispatch, creates an invoice, and takes a card or cash payment. Only one invoice can be created per dispatch.
6. Get paid
When the customer pays a Square link, the invoice is marked Paid on its own and your company gets a payment email. For cash, the driver selects Mark as Paid.
Good to know
If the vehicle needs to be stored, create an impound from the call.
The driver app Collect Payment screen needs Square connected, even for cash jobs.
